The AD-3N was very similar to the two place AD-2Q EW variant. VMC-1 flew one AD-3N that they modified by adding an APA-17 Direction Finder to the ECM suite.

The AD-3N was a three-seat night attack version of the AD-3. Fifteen were built between September 1949 and May 1950.

Engine: One Wright R-3350-24W Duplex Cyclone 18-cylinder air-cooled radial engine, rated at 2700 hp for takeoff.

Performance: Maximum speed 296 mph at 18,300 feet, cruising speed 197 mph. Service ceiling 28,800 feet. Maximum range 1175 miles

Weights: 11,570 pounds empty, 18,000 pounds gross, 19,600 pounds maximum.

Dimensions: Wingspan 50 feet 0 1/4 inches, length 38 feet 2 inches, height 12 feet, wing area 400.33 square feet.

Armament: Two 20-mm cannon in the wing.
